Location Independent Parents is brought to you by three enterprising mothers…Lea Woodward, Sharon Hurley Hall and Amy Palko. We are all parents and location independent in one way or another – and we feel passionately about the choice and freedom this lifestyle brings which is why we’ve launched this site!
You can find out more about each of us below…
About Lea Woodward
Lea Woodward is a new mother to Mali, born (appropriately!) on Independence Day in 2009. She founded the Location Independent network (of which this site is a part) and has just hit the road again with her husband, Jonathan and Mali in tow.
Originally from the UK, alongside running the Location Independent network, Lea runs a design & marketing business with Jonathan while travelling to and living in different places around the world. So far they’ve run their business from Panama, Buenos Aires, Grenada, Toronto, South Africa, HK and Thailand.
She’s looking forward to introducing Mali to the Location Independent lifestyle – but just hopes that the time zones don’t disrupt her sleep patterns too much…grizzly baby + jet-lagged parents does not make a good combination!

About Sharon Hurley Hall

Sharon Hurley Hall put the independent in ‘location independent’ when she left her job as a journalism lecturer in 2005 to freelance so she could spend more time with her family.
The following year, she took care of the ‘location’ part, when the whole family relocated from the UK to the Caribbean.
Sharon, her husband and their seven year old daughter now spend most of their time there, but in the past year Sharon has worked from New Jersey, Cancun in Mexico, Bahrain, Florida and London.
She is a freelance writer and blogger who contributes regularly to a number of sites, in addition to working as a journalist for two UK trade magazines.

About Amy Palko
Amy is a Scottish, home-educating mother of 3 kids (A, S & X, aged 11, 10 & 8 respectively) who has, what might be best described as, a portfolio career.
While raising and educating her kids, she completed 3 degrees (English Studies BA(hons), The Gothic Imagination MLitt and a Phd in the work and career of Stephen King), launched an internet business, tutored teens in Higher English, and acted as a consultant for the development of educational materials.
She currently works as a post-doctoral teaching assistant, freelance social media strategist & online community manager, co-host of women’s spiritual weekends and jungian archetype reader. She describes herself as eclectic, eccentric, irreverent, and most definitely non-conformist!
