Inspiring, but not reassuring enough for me to do it full time. I have five elementary aged children and have trouble keeping up with just their homework.

I am content with keeping them in public education as a supplement to life learning, which I would prefer to be the priority.

I hope to learn from you how to be a location independent professional/parent. I want to satisfy my need for freedom and travel and be able to share those experiences with my children.

Thanks for the inspiration and access to your experiences!

I agree with you heartily. I have always believed education begins in the home. We teach our children from the minute of their birth. So, who is more qualified to teach the people you know inside and out?

As a single mother I home-schooled my three daughters and received a lot of flack from the African-Americans in my community. Funny I always called my self their 'instructor in life'. They have all graduated and entered college. The youngest entered at 16, the middle has graduated from college and the eldest will graduate from college next December. She chose to work before entering college.

I believe there is much more to learn as a home-schooler. My youngest and eldest have online businesses. My youngest and I even wrote a history book (on my site wade-inpublishing (dot) com).
I love this site and have been thinking about becoming location independent. Now that my home &homebased daycare has been destroyed during Hurricane Ike and I am fostering 3 year old twins I am more inclined to check into it.
Thanks for the post.
